Top 3 Smoothies

Smoothies never get old.

If you’ve been following me for a while now you know that smoothies are a staple in my diet. I have a smoothie almost everyday. I never get sick of them! As I’ve said before, they are great way to get in a lot of nutrients in a short amount of time. They are good for everyone because you can cater them to each individual depending on what their body needs, as well as the flavours they like.

A good meal option.

These are my top 3 smoothies that I’ve developed over the past few years of smoothie drinking. Each one is its own flavour (delicious!) and they all have everything you need for a well balanced meal (fats, protein, carbs).

Each smoothie is for a different level of smoothie drinker. By this I mean, if you are new to smoothies, the strawberry banana protein smoothie is for you. If you’ve been drinking smoothies for awhile but haven’t really ventured off your basic fruit smoothie, the protein banana muffin smoothie is a good next step. Lastly the coconut kale smoothie is for the avid smoothie drinkers. This smoothie is actually still really tasty and sweet, but it has a lot of green added to it, so if you are new to smoothies it may be intimidating.

They are all packed with nutrients and each have their own benefits. For more tips on smoothies you can check out my post on how to make your breakfast healthier here. I tend to have smoothies for breakfast most days, however will opt for one for a snack sometimes too!

New Smoothie Drinker

Strawberry Banana Protein Smoothie

  • 1 banana
  • 3-4 frozen strawberries
  • 1 cup packed spinach
  • 2 mejooled dates
  • 1 tsp maca powder
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond or coconut milk
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder of choice (I like genuine health or arbonne)
  • 3 tbsp hemp seeds

Moderate Smoothie Drinker

Protein Banana Muffin Smoothie

  • 1 banana
  • ¼ cup blueberries
  • 1 cup packed spinach
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp almond butter
  • 1 scoop protein powder (my favourite is Vega all in one coconut almond or chocolate)
  • 1 cup unsweetened coconut or almond milk
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 tbsp flaxseeds

Experienced Smoothie Drinker

Coconut Kale Smoothie

  • ½ banana
  • ½ cup frozen zucchini
  • ½ cup kale
  • 1 scoop genuine health coconut protein powder
  • 1 tsp spirulina (If never used before start with ½ tsp)
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 tbsp flaxseed
